BFI

Trip to the BFI

i was lucky enough to be able to go the the BFI (British film institute) to attend a conference they were putting on all about this course. the day specifically focused on our film opening and how we cold really get the best grade possible, as well as some Q and As with some people who work in the industry .

we looked at some film openings from blockbuster films that could inspirer us and make us see the importance of film openings. we looked at the film opening from 'catch me if you can' , this film opening really set up the genre and mood of the film in unexpected way.

on the trip we also learnt that the films openings that work well are the ones that are not stereotypical and the ones that don't give the entire film away in the first 2 minutes.
from this I have really learnt how to make a film opening and NOT a short film, this is going to help me a lot when planning my film opening.
