when exploring cast i needed to be relistic with my options so for the roll of the child to family as they would be the most reliable and easy to contact. due to my small family i had one choice my cousin age 6.

the casting ideas for the guy i needed to look at friends who i knew were reliable and could be directed well.so i turned to face book and looked at people to consider. 

an obvious choice when thinking of castinng was looking at my boyfriend as a possible candidate for the roll of the young man in the openng. as the young man is meant to be around 19-20.

when looking at dramas i looked in too how the shots can capture an audience. often in the opening sense the shots introduce the location/main protagonist in an interesting and creative way. 

when thinking up ideas i really thought drama could be a good genre to do. 

my film idea is a young man whose life is at a dip, not got a good job not really got anything going for him. suddenly out of nowhere his older sister dies. leaving her son in his care. the film will be called 'the next year and a half' and will be all about how this kid teaches this man so much about life. 

 fimls i looked at for insperation.

when preparing to film the sequence we closely watched over the clip identifying the manny diffrent shots and there lenght and transisions. we planned out exactly what each shot needed and started filming. 




when filming we came across a few issues. the angle of the first  shot where the person is lieing in front of the car baffaled us slightly as we were unable to get the exact direction and angle of the shot.

also the time of filming was difficult getting all the shots in the same day and the right shots. 

when it came to editing we were fast and precise but found that we did not have al the shots and and had to slow a few down to make them the right length.  

overall i feel like we learnt a lot  about organizing and preparing to film and edit.
